SENC Mentoring Program 2022

Do you have doubts about how to face your future as a researcher? It may be difficult to find support or advice from more experienced researchers at different points in time during your scientific career, especially during important decision making and professional development. The SENC Young Researchers Committee wants to help researchers at different stages of their career (both predoc and postdoc), to establish fruitful networking with more experienced researchers who can guide and assist future decisions. To achieve this, we have launched a new SENC Mentoring Program, which aims to connect mentees (PhDs and postdocs) with mentors (establish and senior scientist) to promote knowledge and share professional experiences!

  • Join virtual mentoring sessions where you will interact with scientists with different backgrounds and learn from their experiences.
  • Find your scientific mentor and develop a trusting relationship that can guide you through the next steps and future decisions of your career.
  • Meet other mentors and mentees at our face-to-face event during the next SENC-IBRO Congress (Granada – September 2023).

Although a research career may seem overwhelming at times, being a scientist can be incredibly rewarding and an enjoyable experience if you get the right mentoring. Are you a predoctoral student looking for help to guide your career or a postdoctoral researcher looking for establishing your own research group? Do not wait to join us – participate as a mentee.

Also, if you are a postdoctoral or senior researcher and want to help guide other researchers by sharing your own experience, you can register as a mentor in the program and receive a certificate from SENC
