Synapsis CEC-SENCJ Program
Have you ever wondered how the brain works or how scientists study the nervous system? Neuroscience is a fascinating field that seeks to understand how the brain gives rise to behavior, perception, and thought. However, during pre-university education it is not always easy to have direct contact with scientific research or to learn what working in a laboratory is really like.
With the aim of bringing neuroscience closer to high school students through the guidance of young scientists, the Young Area of the Spanish Brain Council (CEC) and the Young Committee of the Spanish Neuroscience Society (SENCJ) present the CEC–SENCJ Synapsis Program. This initiative aims to connect students interested in science with neuroscience researchers, offering a first introduction to the world of scientific research.
The CEC–SENCJ Synapsis Program includes online seminars and the possibility of short research stays in laboratories, allowing participants to learn about different areas and techniques in neuroscience and discover what scientific work is like in practice.
At the same time, we aim to provide young predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers with an opportunity to share their experiences and take part in outreach and mentoring activities. Through their participation, speakers and mentors will be able to develop scientific communication skills, supervise and inspire early scientific vocations, and become part of an initiative designed to strengthen the connection
Are you interested in participating in the program?
You can sign up either as a student participant or as a research speaker/mentor through the registration forms below. You can also consult the program guidelines, where you will find a detailed description of our activities and answers to frequently asked questions.
The seminars will be announced on the SENC and CEC websites and on social media (X: @JovInvest_SENC, Instagram: @consejocerebro), and participants and speakers will also be notified by email. Registration for each seminar will close two days before the seminar takes place.
